Baby John's Physical Therapy
If you know anything about us these days, you KNOW we love Baby John! Many of YOU are even praying for him. Look at him learning to sit up, focus his amazing blue eyes, and hold his head up!
Best Buddies
One of Cole's "Best Buddies" (as he likes to call them) came to play yesterday! We made Valentine cookies!

Cole Can Snowboard
Cole is getting really good at snowboarding down the one "hill" in our neighborhood. I really can't wait to take him for real. Hutch took him a while ago but it was pouring rain and they didn't offer ski school for 3 year olds.
Our Sweet Rusty
Last week was a rough week for the old Rust! We actually thought we were losing her. She couldn't walk or pick her head up. Turns out she has really low thyroid and a kidney disease, both are being treated with meds and diet. So, needless to say, Rusty has had a really good life ever since finding out this news. We don't know if she'll be with us another couple weeks/months/years, but we will spoil her to death until the day she goes!

More Snow
We are loving playing in the snow! Even Rusty is having a blast! She went for a long walk, got burried in the snow, and had to get blow dried she was so cold!

Snowy Day
Wow, what fun to wake up to inches of snow!
Cole and Hutch "snowboarded" for hours!
Bails was frozen within minutes, so we went in! She doesn't have the snow gear that Cole has!

Bailey's New Carpet
Bailey got a new carpet yesterday! It's so nice to sit and play in her room now! (she gets to take off the helmet for 1 hr in the morning, so horray for no helmet pix...and of course I added the bow!)
I wanted to crop her brother's foot out, but I thought it was so cute that he wanted to be right next to her!
Cole trying to pose like Bails (he doesn't realize that's just her bootie...she's not sticking it out intentionally in the above pic)!

Bailey's Newest Accomplishments
-Bailey shakes her head "no" when we tell her "no no".
-Bailey can point (although she uses her pointer and thumb together).
-She points at Daddy in a picture and says "DaDa". She also points at Mama and says "DaDa".
-She babbles a lot, mostly "Dada", but sometimes she'll say "Bubba". Cole loves it when she says Bubba because that's his nickname!
(And, she can still do: horray, clap, more, wave, peek-a-boo, touch someone "gently")
We'll be celebrating her 1 year bday before we know it!

Bailey's New Do
Poor Bails is now wearing a helmet 21-23 hours/day. Ever since she was a couple months old, we knew her head was growing odd-shaped. Her sweet head was more like a parallelogram than a circle/oval, causing her ears to slightly shift (and eventually may have caused her eyes to shift too). So, she'll wear this helmet for a couple months, and we'll endure all the horrifying looks from strangers, BUT she'll have a normal shaped head and ears in the correct places! (If you want to read more about plagiocephaly, here's a website: www.cranialtech.com)

Playing School
Cole and I play "school" every day. He like to be the teacher and makes me write "Hutchinson" over and over (because it's 10 letters and take a long time!). I get to be the teacher sometimes too. I don't make him write Hutchinson! He can write several words from memory now: Cole, Mom, Dad, God. (OH, and Bailey can clap, point and do the sign for "more" now)
Here he is copying a word from the list in our "school" area!

Cole was so excited when he got his DVD case in the mail last week. We accidentally left it at Mimi and Pappy's house over Thanksgiving.

Sick Girl
Poor Bails woke up this morning with snot and goo coming out of her eyes...we went to the doctor and she has a double ear infection. She's one tough little girl!
Eating the lense cap!
curls (you can tell in her eyes that she's sick)
i LOVE the curls...unfortunately after bedtime and naptime they dwindle away, but they're adorable fresh out of the shower.

Cole's good buddy Caleb brought his baby sister to play yesterday! It's neat to see how much the girls have grown in just 8 months!

Jackson is Here!
Our neighbor, Donna's grandson is back in town. Cole and Jackson would live together if they could! They get along so well...
This morning they were cutting cantaloupe. Later, I heard Cole asking Jackson if he wanted to go eat some "envelope"!

Almost 9 Months Old
Bailey is almost 9 months old. She is still a dream every day! Here are her newest milestones (for my sake...read if you like):
-raising her arms when we say "Horray"
-sniffing when we ask her where her nose is
-waving bye bye
-eating all table food (but she won't pick up mushy things like bananas or avacados!)
-crawling everywhere
-standing up on her own
-saying "dadada" and "bubba"- although she doesn't know what they mean yet!
-sleeping 11-12 hrs at night
-taking (2) 2 hour naps/day

Brrr/Copyright
Wow, it's been cold lately...
As a sidenote, Cole says almost everything correctly and has for a long time. There are a few cases where he still says things funny, and we LOVE it. We never correct him and hope he always says them this way. Our classic example is when he misuses the word COPYRIGHT instead of copy. The other day he said, "Mom, I copyrighted you when I brushed my teeth". First of all that's hilarious. And, 2nd of all, where in the world has he ever heard the word "copyright"?

Gingerbread House Making
Have you ever made a successful gingerbread house? Does the icing really work?
Last night Ashley had the awesome idea of getting the kids to make gingerbread houses. After trying to force the icing to hold, we got out the glue gun, and it worked magically. Cole and Peyton had fun creating their houses and eating loads of candy! Cole is so proud of the house he and Nana made! Thanks, girls, for thinking of this!

Our Buddy Peyton
We have been playing with Peyton on Mondays while his mommy works. It has been one of the highlights of our week! He simply adores Cole and goes with the flow around here. Thanks Bub and Amy for sharing this sweet boy with us! (Oh yeah, and...isn't this picture cool...not to brag AT ALL- it was my brother's idea!)
